Her mom, TJ, and I have been best friends since almost the day we met (which coincidently, was exactly five years to the date when I stood beside her as maid of honor at her wedding). She and her husband Paul moved to Virginia so I don’t get to see them nearly as much as I want…in fact I didn’t get to see them at all when they had their first child, a beautiful daughter! When they came to visit in January, I was thrilled, and you can bet I didn’t let them get away without me shooting some photos.

I just love this cute and bubbly little girl. I’m “Aunty Jillian” and can’t wait for many years ahead of visits and spoiling. :)

I feel like I get to know each client so well…and then it’s over! I love having the (cute cute cute) excuse to hang out and catch up!  So, just for me….pretty pretty please, I am asking all my wedding clients to get knocked up. :)

Caroline and Andrew had an amazing wedding at the Outdoor Art Club, and I haven’t had the chance to speak with them much since delivering their beautiful album….so I was just thrilled to find out they had started a family!  It was so great to see them and find out what all has been going on in the past year!  Of course, that all paled in comparison to getting to meet the cute little love bug JACKSON!  He’s just so cute, and so full of smiles and giggles!  Andrew and Caroline are going to be fabulous parents…and I hope I get to photograph the family as it grows and grows up!


This one should probably have ended up on the cutting room floor…but I just laugh so hard every time I see it!

Everyone once in a while I try to tempt them to move to California, but it doesn’t seem to work. Oh well, I love when I get to visit! Eden has got soooo much personality now, and it’s all smiles and curiosity. Love this little girl!

She loves “Where the Wild Things Are”…the second photo is of her howling a great howl…a couple pages early, but who cares?

It must be a hard life when your daughter/sister is photographer and continually badgers you for photos. :) But I love them, so I just can’t imagine not having them as subjects at least every once in a while! They all find it weird that I ask them to kiss for me, but it’s part of the job!

My brother Paul and his awesome wife, Michelle, are adorable. And so is their new “puppy” – a year old Great Dane named Sarge, who insisted on sharing the couch with me!

I’m so thankful to have such wonderful parents (and beautiful too…I like my genes)! They have always been my biggest influences and supporters. :)

And me too! In the rush right before I left, I handed my camera to my mom and asked her to take some portraits! I think she did a great job. Next time, I’ll change out of my gym shirt first, lol. :)

A friend of mine has been thinking about getting into photography…and as much as I can talk about it all day long it’s SO much more fun to go out and shoot!! So we scheduled a little play date and had a blast photographing and chatting and hanging out! We couldn’t have asked for two better models:

Lennon had so many little expressions for just being 2.5 weeks, it was so cute! Of course the best expressions came out of mom & dad, who were clearly just in awe of their new baby girl.

Lenny is very cuddly, and like most newborns, wanted to be held most of the shoot. At the very end of the session, as I was packing up, we noticed this beautiful fruit bowl and decided to try just a few more with the fruit (I’m weird, I know…). To our surprise, as soon as we put her little head on a banana, she fell right asleep! Too cute!

After a few days of thinking, Allison came back to me and said the place that they felt most comfortable and at home was…their home!

It turned out to be a great idea because the day of the session it rained like crazy! We would pop out for a few minutes of photos…then run back in and get dry and warm. Then pop back out again! They were so welcoming…not just showing me around their cozy beautiful home, but also inviting me to Allison’s birthday party that night! I only meant to stay for a little bit, but I stayed till it shut down I was just having so much fun with their friends and family!
